Paul Jacob Malisheski, age 75, passed on to be with his Savior on October 5, 2026. He passed peacefully in his home of 10 years in Colville, Washington. He trusted in God and looked to him in his illness. The youngest of 4 children, Paul was born October 13, 1950, in Stanley, WI, to John Anthony and Mary (Garm) Malisheski. Paul started his life on a dairy farm in Wisconsin and left with his family in 1959 to move to a strawberry farm in Arlington, Washington. He helped his father build the family home and spent a lot of his life either driving, repairing or rebuilding equipment on the family farm. His work ethic, curiosity, and understanding of how things functioned shaped his life. He moved to Guam at 16 with his mom, a teacher, and sister, where he graduated high school.

He entered and graduated from a 4-year US Navy apprenticeship program. He married Donna and had his first son, Adam. He continued working in the shipyards for the next 2 to 3 years. When he left Guam, he moved back to Arlington to work the farm and took a job at Bayliner Boat Building for 35 years untill he retired. He made several good friends at Bayliner and worked often with them haying, rebuilding equipment, and doing other projects. Paul was always figuring things out, from ideas to machinery. He raised beef cattle, had horses, and settled on hay as his main crop. He married Doreen and had 2 children, a son, Jamie, and a daughter, Erica. He enjoyed being outdoors, farming, taking care of his animals, going to tractor and car shows, air shows, races, and the Highland Games. He also enjoyed camping, watching birds, mountain biking, and being with his kids and grandkids.

He loved engaging kids and children. Paul was known as the baby whisperer at his church in North Seattle. He helped where he could in the churches he attended and always shared his beliefs. He wanted people to know God and the Bible. He loved to listen to music and sometimes sing along. He studied history, our founding documents, and the Bible. He loved our country and had a heart for veterans. Paul was a member of LRYC, the Lake Roosevelt Yacht Club, and helped host and serve at the Veterans Day dinner and annual Fourth of July veterans’ barbecue at the park. Paul is survived by his wife of 20 years, Jean; children Adam (Ginger), Jamie and Erica (Shawn) Larsen, stepson Aaron, his brother Mark, Sisters Hedy Capelle and Rosanne Pyle; 11 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. A celebration of life will be held on November 7 at 2:30 at Calvary Chapel, 575 B Highway 395 N., Kettle Falls, WA, with a reception following.
