Mr. Robert Wayne Boyd, age 74, passed away March 8, 2026 in Spokane, Washington.  Robert was born December 27, 1951 in San Jose, California.

Robert was all about FAMILY.  He adored his grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Robert took great care of them well.  He was known to be fiercely loyal to his family and friends.  He attended granddaughter Jackie’s wedding - making her day all the more special.

Robert was a straight shooter.  Known for cutting to the chase, he spoke his mind in a manner that left nothing to ever question.  He and wife Wanda would banter back and forth.  For those on the outside looking in, one would be taken aback.  Despite their colorful exchanges the two were completely devoted to one another.  Together, they raised 4 children spending time camping, hunting, and fishing.    Wanda was the keeper of the finances for the family.  Robert received his monthly allowance and knew he must be judicious in his spending.  Wanda managed the monies with an iron thumb and she was not about to give him anymore!  Those that had the opportunity to be on the sidelines of the two in action found them to be quite comical!

Robert was an avid hunter and fisherman.  Wild game – especially elk and moose were his favorites to eat.  He loved to fish at Starvation Lake.  Wanda preferred a different lake.  They would trade off as to where they went.  Robert grumbled most of the time while at Wanda’s lake that the fishing was better at Starvation.  Robert loved poking the bear.

After Wanda passed, Robert could be seen driving the streets of Colville.  When asked what he was up to, he would say, “I’m looking for Casey.”  Robert would often just pop in when you didn’t expect him.  He loved being around family hanging out with them and eating dinner.  He was a riot to be around.

Robert is preceded in death by his parents Orville and Ellen Boyd, wife, Wanda and sister Judy.  He is survived by his children, Jenny (James) Warren of Oregon, Casey (Laurie) Boyd of Colville, Corey Boyd of Chewelah, and Curtis Boyd of Colville; 10 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and sisters Susan and Debbie.

A celebration of life gathering is being planned for this spring at Starvation Lake.  Stay tuned for more details.  Danekas Funeral Chapel & Crematory have been entrusted with his care. Please visit the online memorial website and sign his guestbook at www.danekasfuneralchapel.com.
