Sarah Elizabeth Steiner

Sarah Elizabeth Steiner, 75, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 24. She is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Stacey (Brian) Coordes; her sons, Dale (Tenura) Steiner and Jason Steiner; her sister, Rebecca Rich; her brother, Joe Graf; and Ozzie, her beloved dog. 

Born and raised in Indiana, Sarah moved to Colville in 1986 with her former husband, Jim Steiner, and soon made Kettle Falls her cherished home. Sarah embraced life with warmth, intelligence, generosity, and a vibrant spirit. She loved bringing people together and found joy in sailing, traveling, yard sales, cooking, gardening, birdwatching, reading, casinos, and solving puzzles. 

Whether celebrating New Year’s, Christmas, or any occasion in between, Sarah delighted in opening her home to family and friends. Her beautifully decorated table and lovingly prepared meals reflected the care and hospitality that made everyone feel welcome. In the final chapter of her life, Sarah found comfort and purpose in her faith. She began attending church, where she enjoyed sharing homemade treats with her congregation. In her last days, she professed her love for Jesus and found peace in hearing the Bible read aloud. 

Though our hearts are heavy with her absence, we find comfort in knowing Sarah is now in the loving arms of Jesus. We hold fast to the hope that we will one day be reunited with her. A memorial service honoring Sarah’s life will be held at the Community Bible Fellowship on the corner of Summit and Hawthorne on July 31 at 11:00am.
