Thomas “Tom” Earl Villers, age 78, a long-time resident of Colville, WA, passed away on September 23, 2026, at his Colville home. Tom was born on June 30, 1948, in Colville, WA, the son of Rolland Andrew “Buck” and Vaudie Earline (Sherrod) Villers. Tom was raised in Colville, WA, where he attended school and graduated as a 12-year senior with the Class of 1966. Tom then entered the U.S. Navy and served several tours overseas in Vietnam.

He was honorably discharged on January 15, 1970, and returned to Colville. Tom moved to Carson City, Nevada, where he began working in the local casinos. He later relocated to Hawaii and enjoyed working in the hospitality and hotel industry. He returned stateside, first to Colville and then to Carson City. While working in Carson City, he met Larry Taylor, and they began a nearly 42- year union of companionship and memories. Tom and Larry resided in Carson City, Colville, and Hawaii before eventually settling back home in Colville.

They built a beautiful home in the Hawaiian countryside. Tom had a natural gift and passion for flowers and tropical plants and Larry kept the surrounding jungle trimmed and tailored. Tom had worked for Hewescraft, the Colville Liquor Store, while in Colville and enjoyed retirement upon their final return to be near family. Tom and Larry loved to snow ski, care for all kinds of animals, from a blue/gold Macaw parrot they raised from infancy to countless fish and four-legged friends. Tom tended to his garden with heart and grew beautiful flowers and fruits. Tom was a gentle giant. His voice matched his enormous personality, which showed kindness with grand gestures and volume. His huge heart poured into everything right down to his cooking. In each moment, he created memories, offered his goodness, and showered you with his love.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Rolland A.“Buck” and V. Earline Villers. He is survived by his soulmate, Larry Taylor, at the home; siblings, Jo Day (Orville Sublie) of Colville, WA, Dan Villers (Till) of Spokane, WA, Rick Villers ( Juanita) of Colville, WA, Kathy Walker of Spokane, WA; numerous nieces and nephews and many four-legged friends. There will be a Celebration of Life for Tom beginning at 1 p.m. Sunday, October 4 at Jo Day’s home, 360 Valley Westside Road in Colville. Memorial contributions may be given to any local animal shelter. Please visit the online memorial and sign the guestbook at www.danekasfuneralchapel.com.
